About this tour
We’ll depart from Fes and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane and the cedar forest near Azrou to see Barbary monkeys.
After crossing beautiful mountain scenery and desert landscapes, we’ll reach Merzouga for a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes and a magical night under the stars in a traditional Berber camp.
We’ll continue through Rissani, Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley, then visit Ouarzazate and the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

Detailed Itinerary
Depart early from Fes and journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, then visit the cedar forest near Azrou to spot wild Barbary monkeys. Continue to Midelt for lunch and drive on to Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon and enjoy a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Berber desert camp.

Wake up early to watch sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast at the camp. Then drive to Rissani to visit the traditional market and kasbah ruins. Continue to Todra Gorge for a walk between towering canyon walls and breathtaking views. Overnight in a guesthouse or hotel near Todra Gorge.

After breakfast, head into the Dades Valley to see impressive rock formations and ancient kasbahs. Stop at scenic viewpoints such as the “Monkey Fingers” rocks. Continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s famous film city, and visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
