About this tour
Come with us on a 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. We’ll start by crossing the High Atlas Mountains, visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and explore the old Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate.
Then we’ll pass through Skoura’s palm groves and the scenic Dades Valley. On day two, we’ll walk through the Todra Gorges, visit Erfoud to learn about fossils, and arrive in Merzouga.
There, you’ll ride camels, enjoy the desert sunset, and spend the night in a desert camp. The next morning, we’ll catch the sunrise over the dunes, visit the Gnawa musicians in Khamlia, explore M’fis village, and meet a nomad family.
On the way back, we’ll stop by Rissani’s markets and drive through the beautiful Draa Valley before reaching Ouarzazate, then return to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

Detailed Itinerary
We’ll pick you up from the airport or your accommodation at 8:00 AM and begin our journey through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the scenic drive with stops along the way. Our first stop is Ouarzazate, where you can explore the historic Taourirt Kasbah. Then we’ll head to Skoura, known for its palm trees and ancient kasbahs like Ameridil. We’ll end the day in Dades, home to dramatic gorges and unique rock formations.
Overnight in Dades Valley
After breakfast, we’ll leave Dades and head to the amazing Todra Gorges, where you can walk between towering canyon walls. Next, we’ll travel to Erfoud, famous for fossils and dates. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara. You’ll ride camels into the dunes to catch a beautiful sunset, then spend the night in a traditional desert camp with a Berber dinner and starry skies.
