This 10-day Morocco itinerary from Marrakech is a complete journey through mountains, desert, imperial cities, and the Atlantic coast. You’ll cross the High Atlas, visit famous kasbahs, and explore lush valleys and dramatic gorges.
In Merzouga, experience the Sahara Desert with a camel trek at sunset and an unforgettable night in a Berber camp under the stars. You’ll also have time to visit nomad families and explore Erg Chebbi dunes by 4×4 or quad bike (optional).
Then continue north to Fes for a guided city tour before discovering the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the imperial city of Meknes, and Rabat. On the way back, stop in Casablanca to see the impressive Hassan II Mosque before returning to Marrakech.

Detailed Itinerary
We will drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Next, we visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou kasbah, a stunning example of traditional Moroccan architecture. Then, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Overnight stay will be in Ouarzazate.

We will explore the Dades Valley, enjoying its dramatic landscapes. Then, we visit Todra Gorge, known for its impressive canyon walls. Overnight will be near Todra Gorge or in the Dades area.
Overnight near Todra / Dades
We will travel to Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, we will take a camel trek into the desert dunes to watch the sunset. Overnight will be in a desert camp under the stars.
Overnight in Desert Camp
We will start early with a camel ride back to Merzouga. Then, we will drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, stopping in Midelt and Ifrane. We will arrive in Fes by evening.
