Experience the magic of Morocco on this 3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga, the heart of the Sahara Desert. We will travel through the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains, explore cedar forests and lush valleys, and end each day surrounded by the golden dunes of Merzouga. From camel rides at sunset to starry nights in a desert camp, our Fes desert tour will offer you a perfect blend of culture, landscapes, and authentic Berber hospitality.

On Day 1, we drive from Fes through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, then continue via Midelt and the Ziz Valley to reach Merzouga. In the evening, enjoy a camel trek over the Erg Chebbi dunes and watch the sunset before dinner and stargazing in a desert camp.

Day 2 is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region: Khamlia village, nomadic families, oasis walks, and nearby fossil areas. Optional activities such as sandboarding or quad biking are available depending on your preferences.

On Day 3, we return to Fes with a stop in Rissani (traditional souk town), then continue through the Ziz Valley and Middle Atlas Mountains, arriving back in Fes in the early evening.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Fes, Ifrane, Azrou, Midelt, Ziz Valley & Merzouga

We will leave Fes early in the morning and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” and visit the cedar forest near Azrou where you can see Barbary apes. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive through the scenic Ziz Valley with its palm groves and fortified villages. Arrive in Merzouga by evening, where you’ll ride camels through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and watch the sunset. Overnight in a desert camp with dinner and stargazing. Overnight in Desert Camp

Day 2 - Merzouga Desert Exploration

Wake up early for a beautiful desert sunrise. Return by camel or 4×4 to the village. Explore the Merzouga region: visit Khamlia village, discover nomadic families and traditional Berber life, explore the Hassi Labied oasis and nearby fossil areas. Optional activities include sandboarding or quad biking. Return to your desert camp or hotel for a relaxing evening. Overnight in Merzouga (Hotel or Camp)

Day 3 - Merzouga, Rissani, Ziz Valley, Midelt & Fes

After breakfast, we will drive back to Fes. We’ll stop in Rissani, an ancient market town known for its traditional souks (especially vibrant on market days). The journey continues through the scenic Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a lunch stop in Midelt or Zaida. We expect to arrive in Fes by early evening. Arrive in Fes by early evening
